Terms of use
Last updated: October 7, 2026The rules for using DeRechi, a board of lost and found notices. By posting a notice or responding to someone else's, you agree to them.1. What DeRechi is
DeRechi helps people who lost something and people who found something find each other. Posting and browsing notices is free, needs no registration and shows no ads. The site is run by DeRechi.We don't keep items, don't act as a go-between in handing them over and take no commission. The owner and the finder arrange the return themselves.
2. Posting notices
Anyone can post a notice. It needs the item's title, category, date, place and your phone and email; a found notice needs a photo as well. If you are under 14, ask a parent to post the notice for you.By posting a notice you confirm that:
- you describe a real loss or find, not an advert for goods or services, a test of demand or a sale of what you found;
- the contacts you give are your own, not someone else's;
- you have the right to the text and photo you publish;
- you post each item once, without duplicates.
- other people's personal data, including document numbers and pages of documents with personal details;
- photos of official IDs or documents of state bodies, the military or law enforcement;
- links to other websites;
- calls to violence, or propaganda of war or extremism;
- insults, discrimination, obscene or erotic content;
- spam, scams and pyramid schemes, or any other illegal or misleading content.
3. Using the site
Without our written permission you may not collect notices automatically (with bots or scrapers), interfere with how the site works, or use contacts from notices for anything other than returning an item, such as advertising.
4. Contacts
Your phone and email are only partly visible on a notice, to keep you safe from spam. Your full phone number goes only to someone who has responded to your notice (see section 5); your email is never passed on to anyone.Anyone who recognises the item can send the notice's author their own contacts through the site. We pass them on by email and SMS and never show them publicly. By sending your contacts you confirm that they are your own and that you contact the author about this item only.
6. Rights to content
The text and photo of your notice remain yours. By publishing them you let us show them on the site free of charge for as long as the notice is published.The DeRechi name, the site's design and its code belong to the operator.
7. Finds and rewards
The Civil Code of Ukraine requires a finder to tell the owner, or the police or local council if the owner is unknown (art. 337). The finder is entitled to ask the owner for a reward of up to 20% of the item's value (art. 339).A reward stated in a notice is the author's offer. DeRechi doesn't guarantee it is paid and takes no part in any payment.
8. Safety
Tips on returning an item safely and avoiding scammers are collected on the Safety page. Never pay in advance to someone who says they found your item, and never give anyone your card details or SMS codes. In case of fraud, contact the police and let us know at derechi.support@gmail.com.DeRechi doesn't verify users' identity and isn't responsible for what they do when they meet.
9. Changing and removing notices
You can't edit a notice yourself yet: to correct it, write to derechi.support@gmail.com.After someone responds, we send the author and the respondent a reminder with a link to close the notice once the item is back. If nobody confirms the return, the notice is archived a week after the last response. You can also close a notice by writing to derechi.support@gmail.com.We may remove a notice that breaks these terms or the law, or strip personal data from it, without warning. To report a breach in someone else's notice, also write to derechi.support@gmail.com.
10. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. We don't guarantee that an item will be found and aren't responsible for the accuracy of notices: their authors are.We aren't responsible for interruptions, technical failures or loss of data caused by circumstances beyond our control.
11. Disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. We first offer to settle any dispute by writing to derechi.support@gmail.com; if that fails, it goes to court under Ukrainian law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of the page. By using the site after a change you accept the new version.Send questions about these terms to derechi.support@gmail.com.
