Safety
DeRechi brings strangers together, so we make sure your contacts don't end up in the wrong hands, and we show you how to steer clear of scammers. How DeRechi protects you
Contacts are not published
A notice shows its phone and email only in part. Only someone who responded to the notice and paid gets the full number, and nobody gets the email.Only the author sees your response
The contacts you leave in a response go only to the notice's author, by email and SMS. They never appear anywhere on the site.Numbers can't be collected in bulk
One person can get an author's number at most once a week, so your contacts don't end up on spam or scam-call lists. No passwords to leak
DeRechi has no accounts, so there are no passwords to steal or guess.Checks and moderation
Forms check that a person, not a bot, is sending them. A moderator removes notices that break the rules or expose someone else's data.Data isn't kept forever
Contacts from responses are deleted after a year. Once the item is back, the notice goes to the archive and disappears from the site.
How to avoid scammers
- Don't pay until the item is in your handsA scammer asks for money upfront “for delivery”, “for storage” or as a reward, then disappears. Pay only when you meet.
- You don't need codes to receive moneyA card or account number is enough to send you a reward. Anyone asking for an SMS code, CVV, PIN, or to “follow a link to receive the payment” wants to drain your card.
- Don't hand over or collect an item on trustAsk for a detail that isn't in the notice. And whoever really found your item can easily show a photo of it next to a note with today's date.
- Meet in public, not at homeDon't share your home address or invite anyone over. Better in daytime, at a café, a shopping centre or outside a police station.
- Don't send photos of documents or cardsThey are used to take out loans and break into accounts. Hand a found card to the bank and documents to the police.
- Spotted a scammer? Tell usSend the link to the notice to derechi.support@gmail.com and we'll take it down. Keep the messages: you'll need them for a police report.
